Developing a target is the first job that groups should undertake. After deciding upon an ultimate goal, workers will be better in a position to function to work toward that goal cooperatively. Also, communication is an integral element in a successful team development. Managers who oversee teams should encourage their workers to communicate with each other regularly. They could also develop methods to assist in their communication, such as setting up email lists that the known associates of the team may use to communicate with simplicity. In cohesive teams, some members tend to concentrate on task functions while others focus on process maintenance roles.
According to the Meredith Belbin theory, personalities make a difference cohesion in teams. In this part of the task I shall compare the roles of the various members of my team. Our class worked as a team to be able to prepare a premiere event of our documentary ‘Swap Stars’. As being a course we divided each other into multiple sub-groups, each combined group were divided relating to skills and experience. In addition, the combined groups which were allocated to cover different aspects of business, which enabled our campaign to operate efficiently.
The following groups were; finance, operations and logistics, sales, marketing, administration and filming and editing. Although, a lot of people assumed multiple roles, for example I assumed the role of sales and marketing. I engaged in these roles because of my personal experience in sales, I am an employee of ‘C & J Clark’ which allow me to thrive on customer service and sales skills.
